9-3-10: Metamorphosis selected for The Peace ProjectMetamorphosis was one of 150 pieces selected out of over 700 entries from nearly every state and over 30 countries for The Peace Project from The Whole 9, an international collaborative art competition and exhibition created to connect peace-minded individuals everywhere. Artists from around the world, working in diverse mediums were invited to submit their creative interpretations of peace. This collective vision will be unveiled September 21, 2010 at a press event at Gallery 9 in Los Angeles, followed by an opening reception on Saturday, September 25. The exhibit will subsequently travel to San Francisco and New York in conjunction with a simultaneous online exhibition.
The selected pieces will be reproduced on 12" x 12" panels and available for purchase. ALL net proceeds will go towards creating sustainable opportunities for war victims in Sierra Leone in an effort to create sustainable peace there and beyond. 8-30-10: New Painting - Set Them Free5"x5" acrylic and pen on paperboard. Inspired by a photographer, Pep Bonet's photos and also, Sting's song, "If You Love Somebody Set Them Free". Glasswing butterfly is the model to show the fragility. The tissue between the veins of its wings looks like glass, as it lacks the coloured scales found in other butterflies. The colors of the butterfly represent the flag of Sierra Leone.
